A Solid Ground Foundation helps make educational dreams possible by providing scholarships that create pathways to opportunity, growth, and a brighter future.
Our mission is to expand access to education by providing income-based scholarships to students and adult learners across diverse economic backgrounds…
Loretta founded A Solid Ground Foundation (ASGF) in January 2026, inspired in part by her own experience searching for grants and scholarship opportunities to help support her younger daughter’s college education. Through that experience, she recognized a significant gap in available resources: many scholarship programs primarily serve individuals from lower-income households, while fewer opportunities are available to middle-and upper-income families who may also face substantial financial challenges in funding higher education, professional development, and career advancement.
This experience became a catalyst for Loretta to create ASGF as an organization committed to expanding access to educational opportunities for students and adult learners across diverse economic backgrounds. The Foundation places particular emphasis on supporting minority students and learners who may encounter financial barriers to pursuing their educational and professional goals. Through scholarships and partnerships with donors and sponsors, ASGF seeks to help individuals build a stronger educational foundation and create opportunities for a brighter future.

A Solid Ground Foundation provides educational scholarships to students and adult learners from middle- to upper-middle-income households who may not qualify for traditional need-based financial assistance but may still face significant educational expenses.
To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must meet the Foundation’s household income guidelines:
Household income will be evaluated based on the applicant’s total annual household income, as defined by the Foundation’s scholarship application requirements. Meeting the income guidelines does not guarantee a scholarship. Awards will be determined based on the Foundation’s established eligibility criteria, available funding, educational goals, and the overall merits of the application.
